First things first; in our hectic Cambridge existence, sometimes life can become difficult. It can be hard to know where to turn to for help, advice or just someone to listen to your problems. The Welfare Officer is available to meet you in complete confidence to discuss any aspect of your welfare: email Yaron Berkowitz (MCR Welfare Officer) We may not have the answer to your problem, but we will be able to point you in the direction of people who can help. Information for international students is available here or email Ruth Galloway (MCR Equal International Officer).
- Free Pregnancy Test Kits are available from the Welfare Officer. If you require one, email (or put a note in her pigeon hole) in complete confidence, and she will leave one discreetly in your pigeonhole.
- Rape Alarms are available from CUSU reception (11-12 Trumpington Street). Price: £2.50. Or can usually be obtained from the Porters free of charge.
- Condoms are available free of charge from CUSU reception, ouside the nurse's office (O staircase), or from the MCR welfare officer
- The Morning After Pill is available over-the-counter from any Pharmacy, or free of charge from The Laurels , Lensfield Medical Practice and Addenbrooke’s Clinic 1A

- Hardship Funds: The University now has a funds website to
help current and prospective students of the University of Cambridge to discover what means of support may be
available to them should they find themselves in need of financial assistance. Your Tutor should also be able to advise.
- Grandparent Scheme: TThe MCR-JCR grandparent scheme is currently being updated. This scheme provides lists of MCR members who are willing to answer questions or provide backround information on their subject areas. The scheme is unpaid but participation doesn't require much time and could be useful experience for those considering demonstrating or supervising. If you are interested in participating please email Yaron Berkowitz with your name, email address, undergraduate degree title (but not class) and postgraduate degree.
- Graduate Talks: If you are interested in giving a talk to the MCR about any aspect of your research, then
contact Yaron Berkowitz (MCR Welfare Officer).
